Celebrations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A winter evening.
Four friends.
Raindrops.
Four cups of tea.

Hundred bucks of gas.
A rusty old bike.
And an open road.

Maggi noodles.
A hostel room.
4.25 a.m.

3 old friends.
3 separate cities.
3 coffee mugs.
1 internet messenger.

Rain on a hot tin roof.
Pakoras deep-frying.
Neighbours dropping in.
A party.

You and mom.
A summer night.
A bottle of coconut oil.
A head massage.
Gossiping about absent family members.

You can spend Millions on occassions but to celebrate all you have to do is spend your Time ..

A Very Happy New Year to all of you. May all your dreams come true . God Bless!!!

A wonderful piece, Thanks to Anupama for sending me this

Nothing Frivolous. Only Serious: The battle for free newspapers

Nothing Frivolous. Only Serious: The battle for free newspapers

Reading this entry , its quite interesting why in India we have not tried the free newspaper route.

Let me think aloud why the free newspaper route may not work in India

Quality of the paper will have to take a beating, as anyone and everyone will pick your paper. Now here the question arises, what do we mean by quality and 'everyone will pick your paper'.

When we talk about the quality of the paper , it dwells on the fact about how a newspaper is being produced, the low costs today atleast help the newspapers manage some part of cost involved in talking the papers to the readers. In today's scenario there are little too strong competition in the country for a new entrant to come in and survive.

THen what do we mean by ''everyone will pick your paper', it talks about the quality of readership, today the major fighting ground for the print media is to garner maximum readership among the classes that actually spend defined clearly by Socio Economic Classifications, so when we are talking about SECs , how will we make our free paper to reach the right audience in a larger scale. This is the major reason why an Anna nagar times or a Noida times can exist in smaller location but not on a major scale

I Me Myself!!!

......."newspaper business has an inbuilt system to take care of this. journalists like to call that a chinese wall, or lakshman rekha, between the editorial and ad departments. for those in the editorial department, reader is the customer, and it is him, and only him they have to serve. for the ad guys, advertiser is the customer. the job of the management is to make sure that these two serve their respective customers without breaching the wall......."

this is an interesting observation on the media industry, being a relatively new insider in the media biz , i completely agree with the fact that 'lakshman rekha' or the 'chinese wall' has to be maintained and following that or not is totally depends on the top management. So today you will always find a newspaper who will write anything to satisfy an advertiser and in turn get more revenue and papers that have a wall built between the ad dept and the editorial.

More over the scope of media companies have gone beyond serving the people with latest news, its much more than news , entertainment.today the print media has very many competitors, they range from the other players in print media, tv, radio, outdoor medium like the one you find in krishna sweets or Mc Donalds, those large display syou find in malls, sms, internet, and growing by the day.

These new media which have sprung up only put the print business in not so favourable light, thats one of the major reason why these days the 'traditionally print majors' have gone in for investment in various other media, like radio, television, internet. And also led companies to find other sources of revenue from the print , like books ( the B-School guide from Businessworld, the speaking tree from Times of India, and so on)

though the comfort zone of the advertisers in print has been breached , no doubt print will always remain to rule the roost and continue to grow in this very competitive media world..

MURPHY's Laws on Girls!

Murphy's laws on girls.....

1. If u think a girl is beautiful, she'll always have a boyfriend
to confirm that

2. the nicer she is...the quicker u will be dumped!!!!!

3. The more the makeup, worse the looks...

4. "99% of the girls in this world are beautiful. Remaining 1%
would always be in your company.".................100% true

5. The guy standing next to a beautiful girl can never be her
brother.

6. If by any chance the girl you like , likes you too, she will
let you know in about 10 years from now ,when you are committed..

7. The more you ignore a girl, the more she'll want to be friends
with you.

8. Theory of relativity......

The more u run towards a hot chick....the more she goes away from u...

9. Rule 1:
Even if you got her out alone... just when you are about to let her know about your feelings...she will spot a long lost friend( I guess from Kumbh ka Mela)

Corollary to rule 1:
The more desperate you are to tell your feelings to a girl on a private chat, the more probability the long lost friend she discovered is a handsome superman, who beats you in everything 9:1

Axiom 1:
The more dedicated you are to the girl, the longer it takes before things work out, but ultimately it will (somesmile for the guys)

10. the day the chick you really like comes and speaks to you
will be the day when-1. You are dressed badly 2. You forgot to brush your teeth for the first time in your life 3.Have a bad hair day

11. all the good girls are either nuns or married .the rest gonaround with u and ruin ur money, health and leave u a total wreck.

12. the more seriously u like a girl...the more seriously her dad will hate

13. the love you shower a girl with is directly proportional to the number of bullets her dad will be showering at you

How true.... Long live Murphy
